2002 Ford F150 4.2 Firing Order – It’s crucial that you know which lender (or cylinder head) is primary to help you determine a starting point for firing order or simply to change the proper part, just like an Oxygen sensing unit, gasoline injector or ignition coil.
In the past everything that was necessary to find out which lender or cylinder head is number one was to determine what cylinder go is located the farthest ahead. One that is the most forward (closest to the top of your engine) is the top cylinder and that area is bank a single.
But many engines nowadays have cylinder heads which can be situated consistently, which makes it more difficult to find out which is lender number one and which is financial institution second. Several typical factors we need to know this, for instance is always to determine Oxygen sensor to replace when you would like B1 S1 (Bank One Detector One), or maybe if you’re trying to identify an ignition coil to inspect for the P0301 (#1 cylinder misfire saved) misfire code.
Things to attempt
Four cylinder motors always have the #1 cylinder nearest to the front side of your engine (only one lender).
V-6 or V-8 look for the plug which is nearest the front side in the engine, if the cylinder heads are even an alternate method of identifying #1 is going to be needed.
Don’t neglect the obvious, review the spark plug wire alone for cylinder phone numbers.
Also examine the ignition coil for figures.
If you have a scan device, attempt disconnecting an oxygen detector for the short term to determine which is B1 or B2. Commonly a pending code or difficult code will set quickly. Also consider the data display screen of your scan resource, the voltage should in many instances normal to .5V.
If everything else falls flat see the service guidebook. Many online sources give quick access to firing order plus much more at DIY pricing.
